The SGV Consortium on Homelessness invites you to attend a LAHSA Problem-Solving Training at our next Monthly Meeting. This training provides an introduction on how to skillfully utilize the Problem-Solving intervention and access the Problem-Solving Assistance Funds.
Problem-Solving is a humanistic approach that attempts to reduce system in-flow by preventing homelessness or promoting quick exits from episodes of homelessness when possible. In Los Angeles County, far too many households fall into homelessness and remain homeless for extended periods of time waiting for a traditional resource. This person centered, short-term housing intervention seeks to creatively assist households in maintaining their current housing or identifying an immediate and safe housing alternative either independently or within their own social network.
This training will include:
- Problem-Solving basics
- How to have a Problem-Solving conversation
- How to utilize HMIS Clarity while Problem-Solving
- How to submit a request for Problem-Solving Assistance Funds
