Racism in Housing and Homelessness (Virtual Event)

The San Gabriel Valley Consortium on Homelessness is hosting a timely panel at our next meeting Wednesday, July 8th at 9am entitled Racism in Housing and Homelessness in the San Gabriel Valley

Confirmed panelists include:

Ryan Parker, LAHSA’s new Directory of Equity, who will speak on the racial disparities in homelessness in Los Angeles County

Thomas Allison, Assistant professor of legal studies, licensed attorney, and president and founder of Social Justice Advocacy Group, Inc., which provides community-based empowerment resources to disenfranchised communities, who will speak about the history of racism rooted in housing policies in suburbia, especially in the San Gabriel Valley

Rolando Lumbsden, Life Skills Specialist, Volunteers of America-Pomona office, boots on the ground provider who will tell the stories of clients as they searched for and were denied housing.

Robin Hughes, President and CEO, Abode Communities, will speak on the challenges of building affordable housing in the San Gabriel Valley
