The department provides utilities for City of Pasadena residents. Services include electric service payment assistance, utility service providers, water service providers and residential energy conservation/rebates. Services are restricted to City of Pasadena residents.
The Electric Utility Assistance Program (EUAP) provides an electric bill monthly credit for income-qualified residents.
The Pasadena Cares and Pasadena Cares Plus programs provide an electric bill monthly credit and possible waiver of certain charges for income-qualified residents age 62 or older or those who are permanently disabled.
The Assisting Pasadena People with Limiting Emergencies Project (APPLE) provides a one-time bill credit of up to $100 per year for income-qualified residents who have qualified sudden, financial emergencies.
The Medical Assistance Program provides discounted electric services for people who require qualifying life-saving medical equipment. Medical equipment must be plugged in and not battery operated and may include; aerosol tents, apnea monitors, compressors or concentrators, electrostatic or ultrasonic nebulizers, electric nerve stimulators, hemodialysis machines, kidney dialysis machines, intermittent positive pressure breathing machines, iron lungs, pressure pads, pressure pumps, respirators and suction machines. APPLICATION PROCEDURE Call or visit the website for information and discount or rebate program details. Walk in to apply; applications are not accepted by phone or email.
Call the designated line for information about, or to report, a power or water outage or emergency. FEES/PAYMENT SOURCE There are fixed fees for energy and water service; there are no fees for rebate or discount programs.
