The agency provides residential mental health services for adults ages 18 to 59, including those who are at risk for homelessness or have a dual diagnosis, in Los Angeles County. Services include residential and transitional treatment facilities for adults with schizophrenia, bipolar, psychotic disorder, schizoaffective, post-traumatic stress, generalized anxiety disorder, and other major mental illness. Individuals with substance abuse disorders may be eligible. Services are provided at four locations. Age restrictions apply; there are no geographic restrictions. Long term residential treatment is provided in a 24-hour therapeutic environment for up to 18 months. Staff provide social rehabilitation services including medication management, personal and independent living skills training, and drug and alcohol abuse recovery. Transitional residential treatment is provided in a 24-hour therapeutic community environment. Staff support clients in developing, restoring, and maintaining interpersonal and independent living skills and community support systems. This comprehensive program includes structured treatment, rehabilitation services, and activities. Both programs are founded on a psychosocial rehabilitation philosophy and use an integrated approach with clients who have a dual diagnosis. Staff provide ongoing support toward community integration and self sufficiency including assistance with housing placement, vocational and employment opportunities, and community linkage. Limited transportation is provided for residents’ appointments. Secondary services available to enrolled clients and those who have been successfully discharged include specialized wellness and recovery services on an outpatient basis only. LANGUAGES OTHER THAN ENGLISH Limited service is available in Spanish. APPLICATION PROCEDURE Call or walk in to apply; an appointment is preferred. California ID is required, along with a recent negative TB test result, general physical clearance, medication orders written by a physician, and any information available from client’s additional service providers. An SSI eligibility letter is required for payment purposes. FEES/PAYMENT SOURCE There are fixed fees; Medi-Cal, vendor/voucher, and SSI are accepted. There are a few beds available for clients who are unable to pay.
