The agency provides outpatient mental health services for children age 0-15 and transitional age youth age 16 -21 in Los Angeles County through a variety of community and specialized programs, varying in degrees of intensity. There are age, income, and geographic guidelines for most programs.
Outpatient counseling is provided for Medi-Cal eligible youth ages 3 to 21, including crisis intervention, individual therapy, family counseling, behavior modification (Therapeutic Behavioral Services / TBS). Support services include case management, medication monitoring and follow-up services. The agency also provides primary and early intervention mental health services for adult caregivers of youth receiving services.
MHSA (Propostion 63) funding supports a LA County DMH Full Service Partnership program of mental health services for youth from 0 to 15 who may be referred from DCFS, Probation, or School Districts. Non-Medi-Cal clients may be eligible for this program as well. Services may be home based, clinic based or school based. In addition, the agency can provide mental health services for adult caregivers of youth receiving services through the FSP program.
The Community Education and Counseling Program currently facilitates an Alcohol/Drug and Anger Management (ADAM) program for youth who have substance abuse problems and who exhibit aggressive tendencies. It is currently serving youth in the Claremont Unified School district. The agency also facilitates a preventative psychoeducational group regarding the Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children within Pomona Unified School District. These two groups may be available to other school districts upon request. APPLICATION PROCEDURE Call for information. FEES/PAYMENT SOURCE Fees are established with L A County and usually paid by Medi-Cal.
