The center provides primary health care services for people of all ages in the Los Angeles County including preventive, diagnostic and treatment services; emergency room and trauma service are not available. Services include CHDP services, contraception, dental care, General Medical care, general physical examinations, immunizations, mammograms, optometry, pediatrics, prenatal care and women’s health care (OB/GYN). There are no geographic restrictions.
Adolescent/adult Immunizations such as Hepatitis A and B; Measles, Mumps and Rubella; Influenza; Diptheria, Pertussis, Tetanus; Pneumococcal Polysaccharid and Poliovirus, may be available to adults, age 19 and older; however, there is limited availability at DPH and DHS clinic facilities. Call for information about vaccine availability.
CHDP provides regular, preventive health assessments and developmental assessments for children from birth to age 21 who are Medi-Cal eligible and for children from birth through age 18 whose family income is less than 200% of the federal poverty level. The check-ups are offered at set intervals and may include the required Head Start or State Preschool and pre-first grade exams.
Dental care includes examinations, fillings, x-rays, prophylaxis and extractions only.
Contraception and reproductive health services are provided. Low-income individuals may qualify for services under the State Family PACT program. People whose income is less than 200% of the Federal Poverty Level are eligible. Services under Family PACT include a complete physical examination, STD testing and treatment, and contraceptive counseling and services. The Family PACT program serves females from 12 to 55 years, and males from 12 to 65 years. Reproductive health services include colposcopy; case specific pregnancy termination; mammography; and pap smears.
Specialty services requiring a doctor’s referral include asthma, cardiology, nephrology/renal, opthamalogy and podiatry. Optometry services are provided to individuals with diabetes.
Ancillary support services include a laboratory, a pharmacy, and radiology. The center serves the San Gabriel Valley. APPLICATION PROCEDURE Call to apply. Appointments are required for dental service and a waiting list is available. The (800) Appointment number is a Countywide number for four comprehensive health centers: Roybal, Hudson, El Monte, and LAC USC Medical Center. Menu options for each center are given. Proof of residence is required to receive and apply for low cost programs. Patients living outside of Los Angeles County with third party medical coverage but not assigned to a provider, will also be seen. FEES/PAYMENT SOURCE Fees vary; call for information. Medi-Cal, Medicare are accepted; ATP (Ability to Pay) is available.
